Lead Analyst/Principal Analyst/Associate Director - Equity Research

We are looking for resourceful candidates to join our Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), and Fundamental Equities (FIG) teams. These teams are a part of our Financial Research group and are mandated to generate new growth ideas for the D. E. Shaw group. These groups provide high quality, in-depth support regarding new business development and strategy research to enhance the decision-making processes in their respective domains. Depending on the candidate’s location preference, the position is open for either of our Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram offices in India. In these roles, you will research specific companies and broader subsectors in one or more sectors like Banking, FIG, Specialty Finance, Housing and Commercial Real Estate (CRE). You will collaborate with the front office team to iterate on financial models and investments, track news flows and sell-side research views, cover results, support detailed modeling of company financials, and prepare investment writeups/presentations. You will also be required to conduct in-depth benchmarking of valuation and operational metrics (versus peer groups), sensitivity, and scenario analysis. Additionally, you will be expected to attend management, sell-side, intermediary, and sector expert calls.
