Senior Manager/Associate Director - Middle Back Office Strategy and Support (Financial Operations)

The D. E. Shaw group seeks an experienced and motivated professional with an impressive combination of commercial intuition, operational experience, excellent critical and strategic thinking skills, and communication abilities to join its growing Middle Back Office Strategy and Support (MBOSS) team in Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Gurugram. The team is responsible for overseeing and implementing improvements to the firm’s third-party financial operations service providers and reports to the CFO. This individual will contribute to the firm’s operations strategy. In this role, you will work on projects to improve the firm’s controls and oversight of third-party service providers, technology, and financial operations support. You will manage firm’s third-party service provider economics by overseeing pricing negotiations, linking costs to value through rigorous performance measurement, and ensuring an efficient, fit‑for‑purpose operating model. You will lead and coordinate DESCO’s partnership with third-party service providers, driving cross‑functional alignment, operational stability, and a culture of continuous improvement across business units. You will also enable scalable problem‑solving by partnering with function heads to design data‑informed solutions, guide execution, and measure sustainable business impact.
