The Opportunity
We are seeking an Associate Consultant to join a fast-paced public sector advisory team working on high-impact strategic and implementation-focused projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working closely with senior stakeholders, and translating ambiguity into structured analysis and actionable recommendations.
The Associate Consultant will:
Support the design and delivery of strategic, research, and execution-oriented workstreams across public policy, data and tech, and project adoption..
Work closely with senior team members to manage client-facing engagements, develop high-quality analytical outputs, and drive project execution in dynamic environments.
Bring together data, research, stakeholder insights, and problem-solving to shape recommendations, concept notes, presentations, and implementation plans.
Thrive in an environment that requires ownership, adaptability, strong communication, and the ability to work with incomplete information while maintaining quality and pace.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct secondary research, landscape scans, benchmarking, and policy analysis to support problem structuring and solution design.
Analyse quantitative and qualitative data sets to generate insights, identify trends, and support evidence-based recommendations.
Develop high-quality presentations, concept notes, briefing documents, status updates, and other client-facing materials with strong attention to detail and narrative flow.
Support day-to-day project management, including work planning, tracking deliverables, coordinating across stakeholders, and ensuring timelines are met.
Engage with client stakeholders and partner teams in a professional and credible manner, building trust and maintaining strong working relationships over the course of the engagement.
Translate discussions, stakeholder inputs, and evolving project needs into clear action items, structured outputs, and next steps for the team.
Assist in designing frameworks, problem statements, and strategic recommendations across a range of workstreams, often under tight timelines and changing priorities.
Support meetings, workshops, consultations, and review discussions through preparation of agendas, materials, notes, and follow-up actions.
Identify risks, bottlenecks, and information gaps proactively, and work with the team to troubleshoot issues and keep workstreams moving forward.
Take ownership of discrete workstreams or deliverables independently, while escalating challenges thoughtfully and seeking guidance when needed.
The Ideal Candidate
Has an undergraduate degree from a reputed institution; a degree in economics, public policy, business, engineering, social sciences, or a related field is preferred.
Brings 2–4 years of relevant work experience in consulting, public policy, development, government advisory, research, strategy, or programme implementation roles.
Has prior experience working with government stakeholders, public sector clients, or within a government office; familiarity with how government systems and decision-making processes work is strongly preferred.
Is comfortable working with data sets in Excel or similar tools, and can use data to support analysis, draw insights, and inform recommendations.
Has experience creating polished presentations, concept notes, briefs, and other written communication materials for senior stakeholders.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility, navigate different working styles, and collaborate effectively across teams.
Is agile, adaptable, and comfortable operating in evolving project environments where priorities may shift and where the ability to work with incomplete information is important.
Is a self-starter and problem solver who takes initiative, brings structure to ambiguity, and is able to balance independent ownership with collaborative teamwork.
Has strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesise complex ideas clearly and present them in a concise, compelling manner.
Brings a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to quality in both analysis and execution.
Can work from client office 5 days a week
