Release Manager
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Software Release Management with all aspects of a successful release throughout its lifecycle
• Present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, and senior leaders
• Define release plans to meet the needs of the business and delivery dates
• Executes on release plans that enable all teams to complete deliverables and ensure a successful deployment
• Monitor and provide approvals for code builds to staging environments
• Coordinate with Product Management to identify defects that would prevent the release deployment
• Create change request tickets an obtain approvals for production deployments
• Create and maintain release wiki and workbook identifying features, user stories, and components
• Conduct a release readiness review to obtain a Go/NoGo vote for deployment from the key stakeholders of the release
• Host and drive the release deployments to ensure proper engagement from all needed teams
• Provide release communications regarding the status of the release deployment
• Conduct release retrospect after each releases.
* Organise Release Scope meetings
* Follow up with Product and Project to get the prioritization of items even before the completion of the existing release
*Getting the estimates from the dev Leads/Manages for the tasksSchedule meetings with concerned Dev , QA and product and get the estimates.
*Capture them in release planning on the estimated items Organise daily stand-ups and track release items against a deadline.
*Identify any risks that can cause release delay during stand-ups and capture them.
* Try and solve them offline during the meeting with concerned stake holders.
* Communicate the release dates to Clients.
* Schedule Stand ups based on the divisions given by Product.
* Ensure that any Scope creeps are not allowed. Any such occurrences should be discussed with concerned stake holders again whether those can be accommodated.
*Change Management based on the Risk on the items creating Release Notes Release Retrospection
* Basically he should be able to manage Scrums and the Release process, Jira knowledge is added advantage
